เมื่อวันที่ ๑๑ กันยายน ๒๕๕๘ นายดำรง ใคร่ครวญ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนายไครีจามาลุดดิน อาบูบาการ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงเยาวชนและกีฬามาเลเซีย เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่ ในโอกาสนี้ ทั้งสองได้หารือกันเกี่ยวกับการจัดเวทีสำหรับเยาวชนในการประชุมสุดยอดอาเซียนในปีนี้ การฟื้นฟูกลไกการดำเนินความสัมพันธ์ในรูปแบบที่มิใช่ภาครัฐ การสานสัมพันธ์ระหว่างนักการเมืองรุ่นใหม่ของสองประเทศ และการดำเนินความร่วมมือตามกรอบบันทึกความเข้าใจด้านเยาวชนและกีฬาระหว่างไทยกับมาเลเซีย ซึ่งได้ลงนามไปเมื่อปี ๒๕๕๖

 

On 11 September 2015, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Y.B. Mr. Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia, to introduce himself upon taking up his duty in Kuala Lumpur. On this occasion, the two had an opportunity to exchange information and views on the organization of youth forum on the occasion of the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur this November, the revival of Thai-Malaysian friendship mechanism, the building of network among young leaders in the two countries, and the cooperation following up to the signing of MOU on Youth and Sports back in 2013.
